Date – Cinema Romance: festival of Russian films opens in Georgia

The 6th Date – Cinema Romance festival has kicked off on November 21 in Tbilisi, Sputnik news agency reports. The event is a part of the Date with Russia festival and aims at Russian cinema promotion abroad. In addition, the festival contributes to the strengthening of relations between peoples United with friendly ties in historical perspective.

Every year in different countries of the post-Soviet space the event gathers thousands of spectators and dozens of participants. Last month, it took place in Moldova and Armenia. From Georgia the festival will move to Uzbekistan.

All events of the festival program are free.

The festival program includes Sobibor by Konstantin Khabensky, Going Vertical by Anton Megerdichev, Unforgiven by Sariik Andreasyan, and A Rough Draft by Sergey Mokritsky. Also, the public can once again see the picture by Georgian and Soviet director Irakly Kvirikadze.

An exhibition of Zurab Tsereteli is timed to the festival. One more exposition called Sculpture and Poetry will include the works by the poet Vazgen Oganesyan. Musical groups performances are scheduled. Children will see new series of Yeralash and cartoons.
