Solve it: dozens of countries participate in All-Russian test

The second All-Russian Physics and Mathematics Test was conducted on November 17 in Russia. Every person around the globe could check the knowledge in physics, mathematics and computer science. The Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) initiated the event and developed the tasks. The specialists from the institute assure that the test is easy. The eighth graders can solve these tasks, the MIPT website reports.

Participants may solve tasks in a classrooms or online. The classrooms are open in almost all major cities of Russia and in dozens of countries around the world. The main site is located in the Pioneers Palace at the Vorobyovy Gory (Sparrow Hills). Five tasks are prepared for each subject - physics, mathematics and computer science. Participants solved tasks in all disciplines the total time is limited to two hours and a half. 

The representative of the control organizing committee Alexey Maleev said that the event allows to check the competence and also stimulates to fill gaps in knowledge. The competition encourages it, he added.

The first All-Russian Physics and Mathematics Test aroused great interest in Russia and abroad. Last year there were more than 35 000 participants, 80 platforms hosted it in Russia, Great Britain, China, Ukraine etc.

Recently Russia has developed several tests joined by dozens of countries. Thousands of people in different parts of the world wrote Total Dictation, participated in the Geographic Dictation and tested their musical ear with Musical dictations.
