Famous non-conformist Oscar Rabin has passed away at the age of 90, RIA Novosti reports. One of the leaders of the Lianozovo informal art school known as the organizer of the notorious Bulldozer Exhibition died in a Florentine hospital on November 7. The death was caused by a heart attack, the Russian Embassy in Vatican says. The artist died in anticipation of the opening of his exhibition in the Russian Academy of arts in Florence.

In the ancient Italian city Rabin prepared an exhibition of his works. The beginning was scheduled for the evening of November 8. Russian diplomats are confident that now the exhibition will turn into a requiem for the great master.

Rabin was forced to leave the Soviet Union at the end of 1970s. He was deprived of citizenship since he organized a non-conformist exhibition in 1974. It took place in Bitsevsky Park in Moscow but the authorities decided to destroy the exposition with the help of bulldozers. Oscar Rabin moved to France to continue his work there. Twelve years after his departure, he regained citizenship and received a Russian passport.
