“For the eleventh consecutive year, the German-Russian Forum holds the Easy Learning Russian Federal Cup at schools in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Due to its unique concept, the competition provides young people with the opportunity to get acquainted with the Russian language playing and at the same time get rid of existing prejudices. This project is one of the most stable formats in the field of bilateral exchange. Especially in politically tense times, it is very important to strengthen the faith of the younger generation in German-Russian relations", Matthias Platzek, Chairman of the Board of the German-Russian Forum, said.

The current finalists were not only the best in their schools winning the school rounds held this spring. Within the 18 autumn regional rounds of the Russian language contest, they also proved that they are the language champions of their region. This year, more than 4500 students from 226 schools in three countries took part in the language tournament.

The German-Russian Forum implements this project together with the Russkiy Mir Foundation as well as in cooperation with the Globus Foundation, the German-Russian Youth Exchange Foundation, the Goethe Institute in Russia, the Association of Russian Language Teachers in Germany and the Russian Language and Multilingualism All-German Professional Union. The project is sponsored by Gazprom Germany, Cornesen publishing house and Lernidee Erlebnisreisen travel company.
