The fourth Russian-Turkish Public Forum (RTPF) has started on November 2 in Antalya, Turkey, TASS reports. The event will focus on the interaction between the two countries in the humanitarian sphere and the program actualization. It aims at deepening contacts in educational, cultural, scientific and sports areas. The program also covers a higher level of exchanges between young people and mutual recognition of higher education diplomas.

According to the Rossotrudnichestvo head and a forum co-chairperson, Eleonora Mitrofanova, there is a boost in relations between Ankara and Moscow especially in the economic sphere. Such major projects as the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant and the Turkish Stream gas pipeline prove this.

It is clear that Turkey requires highly qualified specialists for their operation and maintenance.

Eleonora Mitrofanova explains that one of the important conditions for creating a friendly environment in the neighborhood zone of Russia and Turkey is the quality higher education to students from abroad. She called the RTPF a key platform where the dialogue between countries is taking place.

Among the participants of the forum are high-ranking officials, scientists, businessmen, athletes, museum staff, cultural figures, clergymen, representatives of various public organizations.

The RTPF operates within the framework of the High Level Russian-Turkish Cooperation Council established by the heads of state eight years ago.
