Compatriots from North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate have composed a program of events dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. The meeting was held in Bonn and gathered about sixty people from more than thirty organizations of compatriots, Russkoe Pole reports.

The meeting was attended by the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Bonn Vladimir Sedykh who noted the importance of the compatriots work on supporting the Russian language, Russian culture and historical memory of Germany. The Consul particularly noted the participants and organizers of the Immortal Regiment in different cities of Germany - thousands of compatriots joined the action.

The preparation of the Russian diaspora to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Leningrad Siege withdrawal next year and the anniversary of the Victory in 2020 were mainly on the agenda. The participants also discussed more effective actions of the Russian diaspora on the care of the Soviet soldiers in Germany graves. They plan to clean up each grave, prepare a photo album about this work and donate it to the Museum of the Great Patriotic War on Poklonnaya Hill.

The play Letters from the Front is one of the nearest projects. It will be acted by the Phoenix student theater from Mainz on the stage of the Russian House in Berlin. The text of the play is composed of excerpts from letters of Soviet and German soldiers, which the young actors found in the archives of the two countries.
