Church in Lviv decorated with Stalin images

26.10.2018

Unidentified assailants have placed images of Stalin with “Stalin patriarchy” slogan to walls of Saint Vladimir church in Lviv region, RIA Novosti reports. Lviv diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has expressed concern with the current incident.

Orthodox priests have called to stop fomenting enmity between confessions and stop desecrating churches. It is especially important today, when the situation in Ukrainian Orthodox Church is tense.

As Russkiy Mir reported previously, the wooden Saint Vladimir church was very close to burn out at the beginning of February this year. Fortunately it was saved by firefighters. Fire affected roofing, walls, floor, and also church utensils. Officials didn't name the cause of the fire
