Wheel of Friendship International Art Exhibition launched in Bratislava

Wheel of Friendship International Art Exhibition has opened on October 18 at the Aircraft Bratislava Gallery. The works from the Elabuga State Historical-Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve are on display. The latter together with the Russian Center in Bratislava and the European Foundation for Slavic Literature and Culture with the support of the Ministries of Culture of Russia and Tatarstan organize the event.


At the exhibition opening the Russian Center invited students from schools and gymnasiums, Slovak artists and compatriots. Among the guests, there were many young people. Students from schools and gymnasiums of Bratislava and Levice who learn Russian participated.


The deputy director general of the Elabuga Museum Alexander Degotkov, who arrived in Bratislava as part of a delegation from Elabuga, addressed the guests. He told about the exhibition creation, the sights of Elabuga and the collections of the museum. The guests listened eagerly about the multinational character of Russian culture and many understood the Russian language without translation.

The exposition presents a unique collection of the best works of international ethnical art projects which the museum-reserve holds annually for over 10 years and stores them.


The Wheel of Friendship exhibition introduces 150 ethnical works, created by artists from different regions of Russia and 21 countries. The works of artists from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Hungary, Egypt, India, Kazakhstan, Canada, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Montenegro, Great Britain and others are presented.

Italian entrepreneur Marco Maggi's book, "Russian to the Bone," is now accessible for purchase in Italy and is scheduled for release in Russia in the upcoming months. In the book, Marco recounts his personal odyssey, narrating each stage of his life as a foreigner in Russia—starting from the initial fascination to the process of cultural assimilation, venturing into business, fostering authentic friendships, and ultimately, reaching a deep sense of identifying as a Russian at his very core.
