Moscow has appealed to the international community to participate in a humanitarian mission in Syria, Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin said at the 8th International Xiangshan Forum, RIA Novosti reports. It is traditionally devoted to security issues.

The most acute problem is Syria refugees return, the military official assures. He recalls that in order to resolve this issue, an interdepartmental coordinating headquarters for the refugees return to the Damascus reception, distribution and accommodation center works in Moscow.

In addition, an interdepartmental coordinating committee began to operate in Syria. There, urgent monitoring and management of the current situation on the refugees return is carried out. For three years, more than 245.000 people arrived in the Syrian Arab Republic who had previously left the country to save themselves from hostilities. According to the UN, about two million refugees out of seven are ready to return home.

Now preparations for an international conference are underway. Participants of the large-scale forum will discuss this problem affecting Syria and other countries.

The Deputy Defense Minister adds that Russia did not doubt whether to help Syria to fight against terrorism or not. It is impossible to agree with terrorists, he claims. They can not be treated as good or bad. Terrorists need to be eliminated "on the threshold" and not wait until they capture the house, Alexander Fomin says.
