The Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University (NEFU) intends to develop cooperation with Harbin Cambridge College in China, Yakutskoe-Sakha news agency reports. The heads of NEFU and the Chinese university signed the document which covers student and teacher exchange, internships, and joint research.

The solemn ceremony was held in Harbin.

According to the NEFU Institute of the East International Relations Office director Nyurgun Maximov, the exchange program for learning languages will be launched in the coming year. The cooperation with the Russian university is aimed to train highly qualified specialists speaking Russian.

The Russian language in China is mainly studied in higher educational institutions. Four years of study are not enough to master the language up to a fluent level.

Therefore, China's representatives offered a program promoting Russian language study since first grades. NEFU specialists will help to develop curriculum for the school operating under the East Cambridge Educational Corporation. In the future, the Chinese university will get full support in terms of the implementing and teaching Russian.
