An attempt of a Ukrainian new large-scale military offensive in Donbass will face an adequate response and lead to disastrous consequences. Warnings to the authorities of the neighboring country were announced on October 18 at a State Duma meeting. The document prepared and submitted by the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs Committee was adopted unanimously, TASS reports.
In addition to military actions, the authors of the document and the lawmakers who supported it warn the Ukrainian authorities against murder and terrorist acts in Donbass. They note Ukraine to have violated the Minsk agreements and express concern about the concentration of Ukrainian troops in the conflict zone. The document also contains an appeal to the NATO countries, which, in the opinion of State Duma members, supply Ukraine with weapons, encourage anti-Russian policies and "directly push the Ukrainian authorities to aggressive actions against their own people".
Religious and nationalist conflicts promoted in Ukraine under the auspices of the country's authorities enjoy special place in the statement. According to the document, the scandal with the possible autocephaly to Ukrainian schematics aims “to bless” the war boosting in Donbas. Also, Russian deputies expressed outrage at discrimination of Russian-speaking citizens in Ukraine at the legislative level.
