The Moscow Pushkin Drama Theatre has launched a tour to the United States, TASS reports. For the first time Artists from Moscow will perform in the US capital. They will play on the stage of the Kennedy Center - the main theater and concert complex in Washington. Measure for Measure by William Shakespeare will be show for four times. The first performance takes place on October 10.

According to Russkiy Mir, for the first time the play was staged in Moscow in the autumn of 2013 by a famous English director Declan Donnellan. His works on Shakespeare's plays are known around the world. Donnellan worked a lot in our country. The director calls the Pushkin Theater one of his favorite ones.

There is Measure for Measure in the permanent repertoire of the Theater. Spanish, French, British, Australian viewers saw it.

Two years ago Measure for Measure opened the Shakespeare Festival in Chicago.

The current tour of the Pushkin Theater will cover Boston and New York.

The organizers of performances at the Kennedy Center say that they wanted to show Donnellan's play, but, unfortunately, this did not happen. It’s even more pleasant to "kill two birds with one stone" – invite a Russian Pushkin Theater with Donnellan's work.
