The Russian cultural mission in Milan will open on September 24, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation reports. The large-scale project held for the 13th time has long been one of the annual traditions in the field of cultural cooperation between Russia and Italy.

The event will begin with the latest works of Russian filmmakers. Milan viewers will see Ice by Oleg Trofim, Seine by Alexandra Strelianaya, Rock by Ivan Shakhnazarov, Big by Valery Todorovsky and etc.

Russian vocalists and musicians will participate to demonstrate their art. Young performers will take part in the Beauty will Save the World concert.

The Russian Evening in Milan will become the culmination of the festival. The soloists of the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers will perform on the stage of the Visconti palazzo. The City suit of the Leo Tolstoy Epoch will also be on display. It is devoted to the 190-birth anniversary of the Wars and Peace author. A unique exposition of vintage jewelry made by Elsa Schiaparelli will be presented.

This year the Russian cultural mission was invited to Turin. They will show the film Aelita by Yakov Protazanov. The music of the Italian group Aion Project will accompany the silent film created in the mid-1920s. At the local university Russian and Italian historians will discuss the Crimean War of 1853-1856.
