Russian America Forum: US Compatriots Union marks 45th anniversary

Russian America Forum launches on September 8 in the United States. The Congress of Russian Americans (CRA), one of the oldest organizations of Russian compatriots in America, holds the event. It is timed to coincide with the 45th anniversary of the CRA, the organization reports on its Facebook page.

Participants, including leaders of public associations, businessmen, scientists, artists etc. will gather in San Francisco. They will come not only from both the United States and from Russia. The meeting will provide them with an opportunity to discuss current topics and new ideas, share experiences and find solutions to common problems.

According to the organizers, the main topic of the forum will be the preservation of the Russian cultural and historical heritage, the Russian language promotion. The forum guests will also discuss ways to improve relations between Moscow and Washington.

The program includes discussions with historians, linguists and experts in international relations, investment and economics.

The monument to St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco will be solemnly opened on the forum. The Dialogue of Cultures - United World fund presented to the American compatriots the monument in bronze. It will be installed on the territory of the Orthodox church in San Francisco.

In addition, the forum participants will visit Fort Ross, the first settlement founded by Russian merchants in California.
