Temirkanov orchestra goes on tour to China

St. Petersburg Academic Symphonic Orchestra will go on tour to China, TASS reports. The orchestra under the baton of Yuri Temirkanov will travel to five biggest cities of the country. The route includes Guangzhou, Shanghai, Nanjing, Tianjin, Beijing. Musicians will play music of the great Russian composer Sergey Rachmaninov. The public will hear Second Symphony and Third Piano Concert with famous Boris Berezovsky on the piano.  

Last time Yuri Temirkanov performed with a great success for Chinese audience 2 years ago. His success demonstrates another time the great interest of Chinese people in classical music in general, and in particular Russian classical music.

As we reported earlier, Russian musicians's tours coincide with celebrations dedicated to Yuri Temirkanov' 80th birthday. Next season the maestro with orchestra to perform in Korea, China, Germany, Austria and Slovakia. Just recently his orchestra toured in Switzerland.
