Almost 370 graduates of Irish schools have taken the Russian language Leaving Certificate this year. The number is record and exceeds the last year for 40 students, the RussianIreland website reports. The exam is traditionally preferred mostly by students from Russian-speaking families.

350 of graduates chose an A level exam. Nearly 64% of them got excellent grades. Another 20% obtained B-grade. In addition, seventeen people passed the G level Russian exam and about 12% were given A-grade.

Our compatriots do not hide that one of the reasons for choosing the Russian language exam, which most of them speak fluently, is the wish to gain the maximum number of points. Many students want to enter medical schools after graduation. There is a high competition and any extra points may help.

This year the most popular language is Polish chosen by about 700 graduates.
