Summer language school for LNR students opens in Kolomna

Summer language school for liberal arts students from Luhansk opened in Kolomna city on August 13.

Russkiy Mir Foundation and Luhansk Community in Moscow have organized the event. While opening school for students-philologists, the Head of Kolomna Metropolis District Denis Lebedev has marked that he is very glad that Russkiy Mir Foundation has chosen Kolomna for the Summer school, “We greet you in one of the most beautiful Moscow region cities that recently celebrated 840 years anniversary.”


“Borders can change but the homeland is the only one. We are connected with the language and the history. You are the same part of the Russian World, and we can't be separated,” the Executive Director of the Russkiy Mir Foundation Vladimir Kochin told future Russian language and literature teachers.

The Head of the Luhansk province in Moscow and director of the Institute for Russians Abroad Sergey Panteleev thanked the Russkiy Mir Foundation for this initiative.


At the opening ceremony all students received gifts from the Russkiy Mir Foundation.

The Summer School takes place from 13 to 22 of August. Every day students from Luhansk will participate in educational seminars and listen lectures of the teachers from Kolomna State Social-Humanitarian Institute.

Arts and crafts master classes and film about Russian writer Ivan Turgenev made with support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation are also included in the program.

This summer school is not the only one program aiming to support LNR students. 2-weeks program for Russian philologists from Donetsk People's Republic has started in Sochi State University yesterday.

Both summer schools are held in frames of the educational program called The Russkiy Mir Student. The program is created for foreign students learning Russian as a second language.
