Mariinsky Festival started on the Far East

Third Opera and Ballet festival Mariinsky started in Vladivostok today, July 24, Ministry of Culture website reports. Don Quixote by Minkus choreographed by Alexander Gorsky opens the festival. The tickets were sold out long before the premier. Concert of the Pacific Ocean Fleet embellished the opening ceremony concert. The extensive ballet program includes Seasons of Max Richter and Cinderella by Sergey Prokofiev, staged by Ilya Zhivoy and Alexey Ratmansky. 

Several operas to staged Primorsky stage, including Richard Wagner’s opera Tristan und Isolden staged by Dmitry Chernyakov, Così fan tutte Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Salomea by Richard Strauss.

As we reported before, the Music festival embrace China and Japan. War and Peace by Sergey Prokofiev to be shown in Chinese Guangzhou. Famous Russian director Andrey Konchalovsky has directed the opera. Valery Gergiev will conduct the performance. Japanese spectators awaiting renown conductor with Youth Orchestra of the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra in Sapporo.
