Events of 4 years ago at Ukraine are nothing but a fake revolution, according to the statement of the Italian Interior Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini who gave an interview to an American edition, TASS informs. In his words, the fake revolution became possible because of the money sent from abroad by foreign states. The Italian politician compared those events with the Crimean Referendum, when more than 90 percent of the population supported reunification of Crimea with Russia.

“There are some territories of the Russian origin historically with the Russian culture and traditions, which are legally a part of the Russian Federation,” Salvini said.

Politician is sure that the sanctions have to be lifted. The sanctions against Russia did not have the expected impact and caused huge losses to the Italian economics.

As the Russkiy Mir Foundation reported earlier, the deputies of the Italian parliament addressed the country’s government with a request to direct all efforts of the European Union on mitigation of the anti-Russian sanctions.

The Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte has earlier stated that he does not support automatic prolongation of sanctions.
