Russia and Czech Republic open first International Aerospace Summer School

A summer aerospace school To Space Together was opened in the north of Czech Republic in the city of Liberec at the local technical university.  This is a part of Czech-Russian contest called Space Unites which is to be held from May 10 until November 20 with support of Roscosmos. Children from Czech Republic, Russia, Great Britain and Saudi Arabia came to the school, as per the website of Roscosmos state corporation. 

President of International Association of Space Activities’ Participants Viktor Krivopuskov, representative of Czech Space office Milan Galousek, Russian Deputy Consul Maria Semenova and other contest organizers  welcomed the audience at the opening ceremony.
Having read a greeting message from Director General of Roscosmos  Dmitry Rogozin, Viktor Krivopuskov stated that 2018 marked the 40th anniversary of the flight of the first Czech cosmonaut Vladimir Remek to space by Soyuz-28 space ship together with Aleksey Gubarev, so opening the school is rather symbolic. The world champion in rocket modeling Vladimir Meshikov who guided the rocket starts continued the ceremony.

The children will be divided into 4 groups. Participants will explore electronics, board design, astronomic observations, design engineering and modeling. One of the school teachers is pilot – cosmonaut Sergei Avdeyev. The most expected event in the school’s time table is communication session with the International Space Station.

Along with scientific – educational activities, the school curators prepared amusements and sports games.
