Relations between Moscow and Paris will overcome all the existing challenges, Russian President Vladimir Putin believes. He hopes for certain restoration of the collaboration between the two countries and for the development trajectory being back on a positive track.
Vladimir Putin talked on this topic in the course of the meeting with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, TASS reports.
Their meeting was held during Macron’s visit to Russia with purpose to watch the FIFA World Cup finals in Russia, where the French national team beat up the Croatians in competitions for the main trophy of the World Cup.
Vladimir Putin has talked about positive trends in economics and trade. In his words, the turnover has grown by almost 20 percent over the first 6 months of the current year. Russian leader has reminded that soon the Russian and the French Parliament members are going to meet at the Inter-Parliamentary Commission session.
Russian President has added that St. Petersburg International Economic Forum has become a good motivation for extending the bilateral relations.
Emmanuel Macron, in his turn, has congratulated Vladimir Putin with excellent organization of the World Cup. He talked about a very high level of organization of the competitions and excellent play of the Russian national team, which was extremely successful despite all the pessimistic forecasts.
President of France hopes for continuation of opinion exchange process started at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on the bilateral agenda as well as on topical issues of the international agenda, such as Syria, in particular.
