Mariinsky Orchestra plays Russian music in France and Spain

Music lovers in Granada and Paris will enjoy Russian music played by the Mariinsky Theater orchestra under the baton of Valery Gergiev, TASS reports. The tour of the orchestra starts today and last for the next 6 days. 

In Spain the orchestra to perform in the The Palace of Charles V in the frames of International festival of music and dance. Musci of Mikhail Glinka, Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov, Sergey Prokofiev and Dmitry Shostakovich are in the program. 

In France the orchestra to perform in Saint-Denis located near Paris. The last time Mariinsky Theater orchestra played there 20 years ago. The program to include Igor Stravinsky and Pyotr Tchaikovsky's pieces. For the next night Requiem of Hector Berlioz is scheduled. Performances to be broadcasted by radio and TV.
