Vladimir Putin endorses eased Russian citizenship requirements

Russian President has assigned to put together proposals on liberalisation of getting the Russian citizenship to persons having competences relevant for the Russian economics. This assignment was made after the direct line with the President. The decree is published at the official Kremlin website.

Ministries of Internal and External Affairs as well as Ministry for Economic Development, Labor and Social Affairs will execute the order. The Ministry of Higher Education and Science will work over the proposals. The work must be done until December 20, 2018.

Moreover, Ministries have to take necessary measures to simplify the order of providing foreign citizens and persons without citizenship speaking the Russian language and looking for a job and residency in the Russian Federation with permissions to stay and residence permits. If necessary, the Ministry officials have to offer proposals to amend the existing legislation. 

Note that during the direct line with the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin said that the process of getting the Russian citizenship should be simplified. In his words, the country should direct at liberalization of procedures of getting the Russian citizenship.

Besides, Vladimir Putin assigned Minister of Internal Affairs to deal with problem of employment for Donbass refugees. The head of State reminded that this issue had been raised before. Vladimir Putin promised to make these issues sorted out in the closest future.
