Presidents of Russia and Senegal discuss bilateral cooperation

Senegal is very interested in extending cooperation with Russia, according to the country’s President Macky Sall’s statement made during the conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, RIA Novosti reports.

He believes that it is necessary to continue interaction in different fields including field exploration innovational technologies. 

According to the Head of State, Senegal stands at the crossroads today. One the one hand, the country has its permanent partners already, but, on the other hand, it is open to set cooperation with other states, where Russia is one of the first countries on the list.

Vladimir Putin has remarked that bilateral trade turnover between Russia and Senegal has increased by 3 times compared to the last year. The Russian leader has reminded of existing perspectives for interaction in various directions. 
Russian President has congratulated his counterpart with a victory of Senegal’s national team in group match of the FIFA World Cup. Senegal team left behind the Polish football players with a score of 1:2.
