It's necessary for Kiev to follow the supervisory Venice commission's recommendation on the law On Education, Russian Foreign Ministry claimed. This document contradicts rights of linguistic minorities that still live in Ukraine, Russian MFA states.

“We are looking forward to separate comprehensive and effective consultation in the format of the section 7, as recommended by international observers,” Russian diplomats underlined.

Let us remember, The Ukrainian authorities should observe recommendations of the Venice Commission concerning new version of the On Education law, according to the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjorn Jagland. As per the Council of Europe representative a result should meet legal regulations of the European Council. This way must lead to securing safety, stability and justice for each family and each national.

The law On education states that until 2020 only primary school kids can study in Russian language. Beginning from the 5th grade all school subjects are going to be taught in Ukrainian. After 2020 Russian-speaking children will have to study in Ukrainian beginning from the very first year of a primary school.
