American, Canadian and Australian pilgrims came to the Urals to attend places related to the last Russian Emperor, TASS informs. This trip has become the 10th one organized by the Russian Orthodox community abroad. This year it is timed with the 100th anniversary of the Royal Family’s deaths.

The head of the delegation is Archbishop of Montreal and Canada Gabriel. They started a trip around our country with Yekaterinburg and Alapayevsk. They attended the Monastery of the Holy  Royal Martyrs. They paid visits to the Church of the Savior on Blood, Novo-Tikhvinsk Covent and chapel of St. Grand Duchess Elizaveta Feodorovna.

After the February Revolution in Russia, Nicholas 2 renounced the throne. In a year, together with the Family and few servants they were shot in Yekaterinburg.

Nicholas 2 was canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church abroad and later, at the beginning of the 21st century, by the Orthodox Church in Russia.
