Day of Russia is celebrated today, June 12, RIA Novosti reports. Patriotic flash mobs, sport festivals, concerts and many other events are held today. Following tradition, the program include giving passports to young Russian citizens over 14 years old. 

Kuril Islands inhabitants started celebrating the first. For them the cooks from the cooks from the military base made 1500 crepes. The national celebration of indigenous population the peninsula First Fish Day is celebrated today as well.

National Traditions park Welcoming Russian opened in Blagoveschensk.
