An agreement between Russian and Chinese Academies of Sciences was signed in Beijing. This is a framework agreement, which will be specified by local agreements. One of the subjects of the agreement is mega-scientific projects, RIA Novosti informs.

In the course of the meeting, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeyev discussed with the director of the Chinese Academy of Sciences three basic directions of the modern scientific activities – improvements of the transportation systems, deep-water research and work over major scientific research objects. Sergeyev has reminded that the Chinese scientists are taking part in construction of NICA collider in the Veksel and Baldin laboratory of high-energy physics near Moscow.

Besides, the researchers in Shanghai are building a major laser module and implementing a project of creating the Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor, consequently, the Chinese counterparts might be interested in technologies of producing superconductors made in Russia for the project of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor.
