Direct line with Russian President: Vladimir Putin answers questions of Russians

07.06.2018

Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation

Direct line with Russian President Vladimir Putin is to be held today, on June 7, according to RIA Novosti. The country’s population will be able to talk to its President on air. So-called meeting with the Head of State became a tradition held once a year in Russia.

This format was first used by Vladimir Putin in 2001. Today the direct line will be held for the 16th time already. The major TV channels and radio stations of the country are to start broadcasting at 12 a.m today.

Questions of the Russians started to flood in 10 days ago. More than half a million calls were registered over this time. The calls are accepted until the end of the meeting.

This unique format enables Russian President to get to know to problems of ordinary people in the country better, whereas the nationals have an opportunity to address to their President in person. There is not such a dialogue in any other country. This year for the first time, there will not be spectators in the room, whereas volunteers will be placed in a special section. Another differentiation of the present meeting will be the live call of the President with the heads of regions. Vladimir Putin is going to sort out issues in the course of the video conference.

It is worth reminding that last year Russian President Vladimir Putin answered more than 70 questions of the Russians for 4 hours of the meeting. People were more interested in social and economic topics at that time – more than 35 questions were dedicated to these themes.
