Austria has always stayed a reliable partner of the Russian Federation in Europe, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin. President believes that both countries have a lot of interests in common. He made this statement before paying an official visit to Austria, which starts today on June 5, according to TASS. The visit is timed with the 50th anniversary of national gas supplies to Austria.

Head of State has remarked that lately the Russian-Austrian dialogue has been developing in the fields of politics, security and economics, despite all the complications. 

Vladimir Putin plans to meet his Austrian counterpart Alexander van der Bellen and Chancellor Sebastian Kurz. Present state of affairs between Moscow and Vienna and plans for the future are the central topics of the top-level discussion.

Besides, the Russian leader is to exchange opinions with the Austrian senior politicians concerning hot topics of the international agenda. Vladimir Putin is going to talk to the business-forum participants. Moreover, he is planning to attend the exhibition titled Paintings by the Old Masters from the State Hermitage Museum to be opened in Art History Museum in Vienna. 

Traditionally Russian President is to lay wreaths in honor of the Soviet warriors perished while liberating Vienna at the square of Schwarzenbergplatz.
