The round table conference against glorifying Nazism was held in the UN headquarters in Geneva. Representatives of the Immortal Regiment public movement from several countries participated in it, TASS reports.

The meeting began with a minute of silence to remember those who participated in the struggle against Fascism in the WW2. State Duma deputy and co-Chair of the Immortal Regiment  movement Nikolai Zemtsov marked that this event attracted more attention than the previous conference dedicated to actions against the glorification of Nazism at a UN General Assembly. According to Zemtsov, the website of the Immortal Regiment of the World International committee is launched this year. The website aims promoting the movement and gathering those who already participate in it.

The head of the Polish monuments' preservation Kursk movement Jerzy Tyc stated that WW2 memorials are being destroyed in Europe because of revival of Nazi Party's SS associations. “We, Polish, Russians, other nations – relaxed too early. We thought that the plague of Fascism is dead, but apparently it's not true,” he said.

The Immortal Regiment action coordinator in Israel Rachel Shapiro reminded that  the Convention on the Non-Applicability to War Crimes  and Crimes Against Humanity was adopted in 1968. Dr. Shapiro stated that today the world watches the rebirth of the ideology of Nazism: “Immortal regiment procession became a fortress against Fascism. Walking on the planet the procession states, “We remember, we are together, we will not let this to repeat!”

According to the Georgia representative Angelica Zakharova, the international action is panacea for hatred that was cultivated during the times of Mikhail Saakashvili. She marked that local authorities in all Georgian cities let the procession be without any complications.

The representative of Immortal Regiment in Switzerland Svetlana Konev said that it's important to prevent rewriting of the WW2 history, and won't let the next generations to forget who has actually liberated Europe from Fascism.
