Russia is celebrating the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. In many Russian cities there are parades, wreath-laying at the soldiers' graves and concerts, RIA News informs.

In many cities there are reenactments of battles, military contests and parades. A renovated T-34 tank and IL-2 assault machines are taking part in the parades.

The celebration started in Vladivostok, followed by Khabarovsk's airshow demonstrating 12 planes, decorated with the war heroes' portraits, that flew along the river bank. Magadan hosted the Gallery of Military Glory. Chita held the second biggest parade in the Eastern military district, with the biggest one in Novosibirsk. There a renovated T-34 tank is taking part in the parade.

In Irkutsk the film crew of the movie about 321 Siberian Division joined the parade.

In Surgut a play about the conquest of Berlin is played at the central square with over 150 people and equipment including tanks and planes. Salekhard hosted a cyber-sport tournament based on the event of the war. Large cities like Chelyabinsk, Kurgan, Ekaterinburg have parades, meetings and concerts.

At the westernmost part, the Kaliningrad region, reenactment Koenigsberg fortress seizure will be followed by fireworks.

In St. Petersburg 90 units of military equipment are displayed at the parade attended by 4.5 thousand people. Festivals, concerts and exhibitions are organized all over the city.

Traditional parade is taking place in Moscow. The President and members of the government are going to lay flowers to the Grave of the Unknown Soldier and watch the parade.

New cutting-edge equipment was also on display on the Red Square: Armata tanks, Kurganets infantry vehicles, Boomerang armoured personnel carriers, and Koalitsia-SV howitzers. The Terminator tank fire support vehicles, Uran robots, Katran and Korsar drones took part in the parade for the first time. Overall, 150 samples of military equipment drove through the Red Square. Aircraft wrapped up the parade as seventy-five airplanes and helicopters flew over Moscow, including two fifth-generation Su-57 Russian fighter jets, MiG 29 SMT fighter jets and the Kinzhal-MiG31K newest aviation systems with hypersonic missiles.

Later there is going to be the Immortal Regiment march in the streets of Moscow, which the President is also going to join.

The Immortal Regiment marches are taking place in many Russian cities and abroad.
