Vladimir Putin has supported the idea of the Theater Union Chairman, famous actor and director Alexander Kalyagin to hold the Year of Theater during their meeting "to further develop the art of theatre," official Kremlin website informed.  

People's Artist of Russia has thanked the President, and held him out a draft of prospective Year of Theater events. He's underlined that all theater community will be excited to know about this decision. “It is really very important for us,” said Kalyagin. 

Let us remember, that the current year was called the Year of Volunteer's Year  by Russian President. Vladimir Putin has remarked that volunteer movement help to recognize people aiming at doing good and has making immense contribution in our country's development.
