Cultural Forum Russia – Slovenia takes place in Ljubljana

Russia- Slovenia Cultural Forum opens today, on April 18 in Ljubljana, according to the website of the Russian Ministry of Culture. The forum is a part of the cross cultural  seasons 2017 – 2018 program.

The main task of the forum is a development of humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. Besides, the event facilitates setting connections between the leading institutions and figures of culture of Russia and Slovenia in the field of art, education, museums and libraries.

Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Alla Manilova, Slovenian Minister of Culture Anton Persak and Presidential Special Representative for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy are going to make speeches at the plenary session.

Thematic workshops are planned for tomorrow. Heads of Cultural Departments of Astrakhan, Kaliningrad, Tula, Moscow regions and representatives of federal and regional institutions of culture are going to take part in these workshops. They are to discuss topical issues of theatre, cinema, museums and challenges of preserving cultural heritage and international cooperation.

A strategic discussion titled The Forum of Slavic Cultures: Historical Project of Russia and Slovenia is scheduled as a part of the agenda.
