Russians win at the European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad

Russian team won the 7th European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad, the Ministry of Education portal reports. The Russian team was composed of 4 participants - Diana Gainutdinova from Tatarstan, Irina Lanskikh from Kirov, Elina Telesheva from Naberezhnye Chelny and Isabella Tolokno from St. Petersburg. Each one of them receive a golden medal.

Two American and two Romanian schoolgirls have also won gold.

In 6 days the participants had to resolve six math problems. The difficulty level compares favorably with International Math Olympiad. Girls from more than 50 countries were participating in the Olympiad.

Russian Minister of Education Olga Vasilieva has congratulated our talented compatriots. According to Mrs. Vasilieva, this victory is an illustrative example of the strong level of the math education in Russia.
