New sanctions introduced by US in relation to the Russian entrepreneurs and top officials are unfriendly and senseless, according to chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev, RIA Novosti informs.

“This is another ungrounded, unfriendly and senseless step. An attempt to explain absence of a true strategy and justify so-called legitimacy of their actions towards Russia by the tool of sanctions.” the senator, whose surname appeared on the banned list, claimed.

His words were supported by the vice-speaker of the Russian State Duma Pyotr Tolstoi. He called new restrictions another step on the way leading to nowhere. The deputy is sure that one more attempt by the US to impose its will to Moscow is doomed to failure from the diplomatic and the political points of view.

Senator Vladimir Dzhabarov believes that retaliatory measures on these sanctions might touch political and economic sectors.

He expressed his indignation that the chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev was included into the banned list issued by the US.

Russia’s Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev has commented on the US sanctions that this concerns the US only. He believes that this would not be an obstacle to the efficient international activities.

Note that yesterday Washington published another list of the banned entrepreneurs, top officials and companies from Russia to include 7 businessmen, 17 senior officials and 12 companies.
