7th Moscow Conference on International Security (MCIS) organised by Defense Ministry of Russian Federation took place in Moscow. It's an annual event aiming to strengthen connections between defense departments across the world.
Forum's agenda encompassed security issues in Europe, Asia, Latin America. Fighting terrorism, soft power phenomenon and after-war reconstruction of Syria are the central topics of the conference. More than 850 guests from 95 countries came to participate in the forum.
The Chair of Regional Programmes at “Russkiy Mir” foundation Georgy Toloraya moderated the Asia: Regional Security Aspects plenary session. Cooperation of Russian with countries in the Asia-Pacific region was discussed in the frames of that session.
The Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Lieutenant-General Igor Korobov, Vietnamese Minister of Defense, the Army General Ngô Xuân Lịch, Minister of Defense of Mongolia Nyamaagiin Enkhbold, their colleagues from Indonesia, Singapore, and other countries made speeches.
Georgy Toloraya has marked that it's necessary to continue the cooperation with Asian parties in the in a changeable global situation.
