An issue of preserving the educational curriculum in the Russian language in Latvia and Ukraine was a center of attention at the meeting between the State Duma Vice Speaker Pyotr Tolstoi and OSCE Chief Administrative Officer Thomas Greminger held on April 3, RIA Novosti informs. Besides, the politicians touched upon the topic of inability of the Russian community to take part in the presidential election in Ukraine.

According to the Russian deputy, it was advised to make decisions related to these topics based on a dialogue.

OSCE assured that they would expand maximum efforts on organizing such a dialogue and would strive to get an indiscriminating character of the decisions made in Ukraine and Latvia.

Note that, yesterday the State Duma of the Russian Federation issued the statement criticizing the educational reorganization in Latvia on annihilation of the education in languages of the national minorities. Ukraine approved the bill banning using the Russian language in the field of education.

As per the Russkiy Mir Foundation, Kiev disrupted Russian presidential election in Ukraine. The entrance to the poll stations stayed blocked for the whole day in Kiev, Odessa, Kharkov and Lvov. 72000 Russian voters are on the consular register in Ukraine.
