Russia and Japan to extend cooperation in the field of education

About 250 agreement between Russian and Japanese high education institutions have been signed, and Russia is eager to move forward, RIA Novosti reports.

A Deputy Chairman of the Government of RF Olga Golodets has noted that almost 100 Japanese students currently study in Russian universities during her speech at the Russian-Japanese forum.

Golodets is sure that the firm base for cross-country cooperation has to be supported by the personal contact between Russian and Japanese students and total immerse into the Russian culture. Exchange study programs have to be created to serve that goal.

The head of the RF Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin, The Business Russia ( Деловая Россия) President Aleksey Repik, and Russian institutions representatives participated in the Symposium. From the Japanese side the Minister of Economics Hiroshige Seko, and the Chairman & CEO of the Kansai Economic Federation and Sumitomo Electric Industries Masayoshi Matsumoto took part in the event.
