23.03.2018

Delegation from Costa Rica payed a visit to the Russkiy Mir Foundation. The delegation comprised the Costa Rica Ambassador in Moscow Arturo Fournier Facio, Chargé d'affaires a.i. Embassy of Costa Rica in Russia, General Councel David Alfaro Mata and the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, the head of Russian Center in San Jose Ernesto Morales Jimenez.

"We are interested in cooperation with Costa Rica, we want them to know more about Russia, " claimed the Russkiy Mir Foundation CEO Vladimur Kochin.

The Foundation began its activities in the Central American country not long ago, and the Russian Center at the Chamber of Commerce and Tourism was opened in October, 2017. Its director Ernesto Morales Jimenez was graduated from The Russian People's Friendship University; he speaks perfect Russian. The present meeting was appointed due to the agreement singnature on financing of the Russian center in Costa Rica by Russkiy Mir Foundation for the current year.

This cooperation has already brought its fruits. According to Mr. Jimenez, there are five Russian language courses functioning, and a new branch that has recently opened in Heredia. However, there are too many those willing to learn the language. The interest has raised due to approaching FIFA World Cup 2015 in Russia. One of the Russian language courses is specifically tailored for the soccer fans. It's called correspondingly - 'Mundialista'.

It is worth mentioning that football is very part of life for Costa Ricans. If last year during the FIFA World Cup their team has reached the quater finals, this time it hopes to do better, according to Mr. Jimenez.
