The Skripal case turned out to be a center of discussion at the summit of the European Union country leaders recently kicked off in Brussels. This case came forward moving aside an issue of possible trade war between EU and USA, TASS reports.

After a hot discussion continuing for 5 hours, it was decided that the EU recalls its Ambassador Markus Ederer to Russia for consultations. This is a symbolic, though a very mighty political measure.

At this, not all the countries supported this decision. The discussion was not easy to lead, as Greece, Cyprus, Italy, Slovakia voted against such actions.

Some countries are also considering ways of recalling their diplomats from the Russian Federation or expelling Russian ones to Moscow. Among these countries are the Baltic States and Poland whose anti-Russian rhetoric is excessive. France has also joint them.

The final statement by the EU summit just repeated what had been said before by the community countries. Brussels expressed solidarity with London and promised to help the UK in the investigation of the incident.

Note that London has accused Russia of poisoning of the former Russian intelligence agent and ex-British spy Sergei Skripal with neuro-paralytic substance.

Russian authorities have claimed that Russia is ready to start investigation on the case. Moscow has expressed doubts on readiness of London to cooperate on the investigation of the incident in Saulsberry. Great Britain is continuing to smear Russia using all possible means.
