Russia and China to cooperate on research of Moon and deep space

Roscosmos and the China National Space Administration are aiming at development of the Moon and the deep space joint researches, RIA Novosti informs.

The corresponding agreement was signed by the parties at the international forum, which took place in the capital of Japan. According to the signed document, China is going to assist the Russian project on launch of the moon-orbiting space station Luna Resource-1 lander in 2022.

In their turn, Russian experts are to take part in the Chinese mission for landing in the region of the southern pole of the Moon in 2023.

The leaders of the Russian-Chinese operations have discussed foundation of the joint data center of lunar and deep space projects. Scientific and industrial centers of the both countries are to be involved in the project.

Russia and China have been collaborating in the field of the space development for many years. The countries are implementing the space development target programme for 2018 – 2022.
Currently, the relations between Russia and China in different areas are at the highest level. The countries signed a range of agreements in the fields of agriculture, energetics, finances and space development back in 2011.
