Prioritized development areas in the field of national education and science are mathematics, genetics and innovative technologies, as per Vladimir Putin who made this statement in his Address to the Federal Assembly, the official Kremlin website reports.

The head of state has mentioned that the genome research would enhance new diagnostic techniques, new disease prevention ways and new methods of their treatment. The research would boost selection development, which, it its turn, would entail development of agriculture.

President has pointed out that the Russian mathematical science should be sustained on a high level. Russian leader is sure that this would bring significant advantage to the digital economics.

In Russian President’s point of view, advance of innovative technologies should be based on fundamental science only. Its possibilities and potential are constantly growing, so it is required to put the science on a qualitatively new level. Putin promised to turn research infrastructure in our country into one of the most efficient ones in the world. The head of state has mentioned that “powerful scientific educational centers should start operating at full capacity in the closest future.” Their mission would be integration of potential of universities, academic institutes and technology-advanced companies. Putin has reminded that such centers are being built all over the country. In particular, they already exist in Kazan, Samara, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Ekaterinburg, Tyumen, Vladivostok, Kaliningrad and other cities.

Russian President has remarked that innovative research mega-science projects are implemented in Gatchina and Dubna. Other projects will be carried out too. Putin has emphasized that they would enable national scientists to make a huge step forward in their research.

President has positively commented the performance of Russian schoolchildren at International Olympiads. “Russian youth proves its leadership in science and in other fields. Our schoolchildren took 38 medals at international competitions last year,” Putin reminded.
