Germany is ready to cancel anti-Russian sanctions and start the lifting step by step. This statement was made at the meeting of Russian and German business circles by the German Foreign Minister Zigmar Gabriel. The event was held as a part of Munich Conference on Security, TASS informs.

«I believe that the idea of the Russian President about the blue helmets is correct. Its implementation will lead to gradual cancellation of the sanctions,» Foreign Minister of Germany said.

He has also noted that the country’s administration is going to improve relations between the Russian Federation and the European Union. The diplomat has emphasized that Germany is interested in stable and positive relations with Russia. Gabriel has called for using all possible formats for holding talks.

«Russia is one of our central partners in the international security architecture,» German Foreign Minister has said.

Besides, Gabriel pointed out that the sanctions introduced by the United States against Russia are construed as ambiguous, RIA Novosti informs. In particular, Europe is concerned about exterritorial character of the restrictions.

«We take these sanctions as more than ambiguous and having exterritorial significance,» Zigmar Gabriel said.
