Days of Russia held in Zambia

Days of Russia in Zambia have started today, on February 16. The activities dedicated to this date will last for the whole week, according to the website of the World Coordinating Council of the Russian Compatriots living abroad.

The meeting of graduates of Soviet and Russian Universities is scheduled for the first day. Zambians will listen to Russian classic music. A world-renowned Romantic pianist Katya Grineva will give several concerts, two of them will be organized in a picturesque venue – at the waterfall Victoria.

A youth exhibition football match is scheduled as a part of the Days of Russia in Zambia. Teams of diplomats, Russian compatriots and graduates of Russian universities are to meet at the volleyball field. An educational exhibition will be opened at the forum.

The Russian-speaking community of Zambia consists of about a hundred people. The Coordinating Council of the Russian Compatriots in Zambia includes also citizens of other countries, such as Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia and Lithuania.
