There are no grounds for accusing Russia of involvement into the alleged cyber attack in Ukraine with the NotPetya virus, according to Dmitri Peskov. In the words of the Presidential Press Secretary, such claims are glaring evidence of continuous anti-Russian campaigns, TASS reports. He has underlined that nobody owns evidence of Moscow’s involvement in the cyber attacks.

«We totally reject such accusations, we consider them empty, groundless and nothing but ongoing anti-Russian propaganda unsupported by any proofs,» Peskov claimed.

The British Foreign Ministry representative Tariq Ahmad has put the responsibility for the hackers’ attack on the Russian authorities and the Russian army. He has stated that this attack proves again full neglect of the Ukrainian sovereignty.

Besides, the British official has blamed Russia for “secret attempts of shattering the international community”. Moreover, claims by the British Defense Minister Gavin Williamson deserve some attention too. He is notorious for his horror stories about Russia going to destroy English infrastructure.

Now he called Russian threat evident. In his words, Russia is allegedly shaking democracy, putting the essential commodities and services out of order and using information as a weapon.

NotPetya virus spread on the computers of Ukrainian governmental institutions, some banks and head companies last summer. As a result of this attack, many users in Europe, Asia and US also suffered. Some major Russian banks reported that the virus stopped the work of their PCs as well.
