Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry (photographer Nikita Kochuk) - //wikimedia.orgClaims of the British Defence Minister that Russia is allegedly going to attack important infrastructure objects in UK are absurd, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. As per the official spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova such statements have negative impact on chances to return the bilateral relations back to normal, RIA Novosti informs.

“It seems that at the moment of speaking Defence Minister of Great Britain imagined himself in a new James Bond movie,” Zakharova said.

Gavin Williamson has declared that Russia is preparing an operation on putting out of order important objects of UK infrastructure. Minister is sure that the country will be overtaken by panic, chaos and numerous victims. Mass media remark that he allegedly used secret data of the British intelligence.

Zakharova has claimed that such statements made by an official person of such a senior status are simply amateur. She has reminded that even UK treated these words like unprofessional. In particular, the intelligence services advised on Minister to stop hustling and making the population panic.

“Apparently, these statements are absurd,” Zakharova said. At this, she has noted that these claims make the bilateral relations more complicated than before.

Earlier, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security Franz Klintsevich has referred to the statements of Gavin Williamson as complete nonsense and supposed that the British politician has just finished The War of the Worlds by Herbert Wells. Senator has supposed that the famous fantasy author used the same words to describe actions of aliens attacking England. The only difference is that Minister does not have heat rays used by aliens to destroy all the living.
