France still remains one of the most important European partners for Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin believes. He made this statement during talks with members of Economic Council of Russian-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, TASS reports.

He has reminded that Russia has never changed its course on expansion of a dialogue with France on all the bilateral directions and to cooperate with France on topical issues of international agenda. Vladimir Putin is sure that the dialogue should be based on a pragmatic approach with consideration of each other’s interests.

President has satisfactorily noted that there are several large-scale projects implemented by Russia with participation of French business. Turnover between Russia and France has grown by 155 over the last 11 months.

Vladimir Putin has said that we can nothing but welcome intentions of the French entrepreneurs to place their production units in Russia and supply our small and middle-scale businesses with orders. He has assured that Russian authorities facilitate mutual projects on Digital Economy programme.

The country’s leader has invited French businessmen to attend St Petersburg International Economic Forum to be held in the Northern capital this spring.
