Shemyakin Center in St. Petersburg dedicates exhibition to Vladimir Vysotsky

Mikhail Shemyakin Center in St. Petersburg opens exhibition History of the Legend. Shemyakin. Vysotsky and Russian Paris 1970s, RIA Novosti reports.

The showcase comprises 42 illustrations made by artist Shemyakin for Vysotsky's compositions, unique pictures of the singer-songwriter made by Shemyakin and French photographer Patrick Bernard, Vysotsky's vinyls with author's inscription, film PBS about Vysotsky, and other pieces from Shemyakin's private collection. Of course Mikhail Shemyakin's artworks exhibition will complete the event.

Shemyakin and Vysotsky started being friends during immigration of Shemyakin, at the beginning of 1970s. At that time the artist was promoting some creative personalities who's art or verses were prohibited in USSR at the time.

The exhibition's opening is dated with 80th anniversary of Vladimir Vysotsky. It will be open until March, 18th.
