US get first dispatch of Russian gas

25.01.2018

finobzor.ruThe first dispatch of Russian liquefied natural gas has been exported beyond Russia, RIA Novosti informs. It was delivered in Gaselys tanker of French company Engie to the port of Boston. Now the ship remains off the harbor near the shore.

The gas was produced at Yamal SPG factory, as mass media reported earlier.

The starting point of the Gaselys route is UK. The tanker set off from the port of Isle of Grain. The arrival was scheduled for January 20. However, a day before the appointed time, all of a sudden, the tanker changes direction to be delivered to Spain. This change evoked much agitation of the Internet users. Later the explanation came that the course change happened due to deterioration of weather conditions.

Note that experts from Bloomberg agency called Yamal SPG an ambitious energy project that costs 27 billion US dollars.

Over several years of operations, Russia in cooperation with French company Total owning 20% of Yamal SPG managed to deliver 5 mln tons of materials and equipment to very unfavorable climate zones.

Recent launch of Russian factory with participation of Vladimir Putin and first dispatch of the liquefied gas to UK showcased that major efforts of the Russian elite and President personally were successful despite unfriendly sanctions of the Western countries. The first country to buy Russian gas was the country supporting the sanctions against our country. It will be good news for Moscow.
